Winter Wonders 18 Finland #kainuu is organised together with the following partners.

Visit Finland

Visit Finland works to develop Finland’s travel image and helps Finnish travel companies to internationalize, develop, sell and market high-quality travel products. Visit Finland cooperates with travel destination regions, businesses in the travel industry and other export promoters and embassies. This cooperation involves research, product development and, above all, marketing of leisure tourism to Finland from abroad. The Regional Council of Kainuu has signed a cooperation agreement with Visit Finland about arranging the Winter Wonders 2018 event. Kainuu region is one of the regions forming the Lakeland tourism area coordinated by Visit Finland. Mr. Tuomo Tahvanainen from the regional development company Kainuun Etu Oy is a member of  the regional cooperation network of Visit Finland.

Brussels Major Events

The primary aim of non-profit organization Brussels Major Events is staging important events for public institutions in Brussels. One of those is the annual five-week event "Winter Wonders", one of the biggest Christmas market events in Europe.

Kainuun Etu Oy

Kainuun Etu Ltd. is a regional development company owned by the municipalities of Kainuu, with the  task to  support the development of Kainuu's business structure and to help our region's keysector companies with the development of their business know-how, competitiveness, internationalization, growth and cooperation as well as develop key clusters and their operation conditions.

Kalevala Spirit

Kalevala Spirit is a Kainuu based export company, gathering together the best products of Finland and offering those to its friends in Central Europe. The focus of Kalevala Spirit operations is in Finnish Christmas Villages.  This year the company is founding its roots in the French speaking Europe via Winter Wonders 18 Finland #kainuu event.


Finnair is the flag carrier and largest airline of Finland, operating both domestic and international route flights and leisure flights. It is in the interests of Finnair to make Finnish destinations known abroad and the company has agreed to be an official partner of Winter Wonders 18 Finland #kainuu event.


Metsähallitus is a  a state-owned enterprise, responsible for the management of one third of Finland’s surface area. They use and develop these state-owned land and water areas responsibly, in a way that maximises their benefits to society as a whole. Kainuu region is known by its nature. For example, during the centenary year of Finland's independence in 2017, the 40th national park in Finland was opened in Suomussalmi in Kainuu. Metsähallitus is introducing the nature of Kainuu and Finland to the Winter Wonders event in a virtual form.

Kajaani University of Applied Sciences

The cooperation agreement with Kajaani University of Applied Sciences (KAMK) is currently under negotiations. At this point it is already agreed that the Winter Wonders 18 Finland #kainuu event will offer opportunities for KAMK students to participate this international project in various forms throughout its life cycle.

East and North Finland EU Office

The East and North Finland EU office represents the interest of the regions of Central Ostrobothnia, Kainuu, Lapland, North Karelia, Northern Ostrobothnia, North Savo and South Savo in Brussels. In close collaboration with the regional councils the Brussels office aims to improve the competitiveness and conditions of the businesses throughout the East and North of Finland. The EU office has a strong cooperaton network in Brussels, that may be utilised in many ways.
